The brief
The brief
Design a website for a local moving company. People shopping for movers want a price fast and are wary of hidden fees. The site should give a believable price range in under a minute, show what's included, and help customers plan the move so they come back to the site.
Goals
- 01Give a price range in three short steps
- 02Show the details that drive the price, live
- 03Make what's included obvious, so there are no hidden fees
- 04Give customers a reason to come back before moving day

The work
The approach
For a moving company, the quote tool is the product. So it sits right under the headline, full width, and does one thing: give a believable price range in three short steps. Home size, the move itself, and extras. The estimate panel updates as you go, so the price never jumps at the end.
Bricolage Grotesque gives the headline a confident, slightly quirky voice, and the charcoal, tangerine and kraft-paper palette borrows from tape and cardboard without becoming a gimmick.
Decisions worth noting
- One step at a time, with a way back. A progress bar shows where you are. Back and Continue buttons sit in the same place on every step, and the estimate never disappears.
- Show what drives the price. Crew size, truck size, hours and weekday or weekend are listed beside the price, so the range makes sense.
- A reason to return. The moving plan turns your moving day into real dates (“4 weeks before: Sat, Oct 10”) with tick boxes. It’s useful, and it keeps the company in mind for weeks.
- Included means included. The “Included in every move” boxes answer the hidden-fees worry before anyone asks.
How it’s built
One static page. The wizard steps are real fieldsets, and everything still works if JavaScript is off, because all the questions simply show at once. Estimates and dates are a few lines of JavaScript. The font is self-hosted.
What would change for a real client
The company’s real hourly rates and service area, its license number, real crew photos, and a connection to its booking or CRM system.
